Rick Prolife Bitterroot
Meet Rick Koehler, some say he was born on a different planet. Others claim it was the Canadian wilderness, which can be pretty much the same thing. Sadly, all those people were mistaken as to his true origin. Hailing from his family farm in Western NY, that is to say, the large portion of that state that does in fact exist beyond the borders of Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. From there, Rick Koehler moved to his beloved Montana to marry his equally beloved wife. He has been part of Pro-Life Bitterroot, Montanans for Life, and Bitterroot Mommy & Me since each of those organizations’ respective Day One. Being the resident, tame engineer, he was immediately and unanimously elected as Treasurer because “he thinks in math.”
Whilst he managed to live the majority of his life completely avoiding the realm of politics, he was often heard stating that “Each person deserves the freedom to screw up their own personal life however they see fit.” Little did he realize that a lifetime with that mindset made him peculiarly suited for pro-life work because he believes each life begins at conception, that each and every one is precious, and each one deserves the right to live their own lives as they see fit.
When not keeping the books for Pro Life Bitterroot, Montanans For Life, and Bitterroot Mommy and Me, Rick can often be found at work, or busily building a home on the property he and his wife own outside Hamilton. When not working, Rick enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, building, well, pretty much anything from a better mousetrap to an entire house, garage, workshop, and greenhouse. On top of that he does in fact have two green thumbs, something he credits to having grown up on a farm, so growing plants comes as naturally to him as breathing. He’s handy in the kitchen and is also a firearms instructor, because he believes that the proper use of a gun is to protect the innocent, and that is very much a pro-life event.
Any remaining time in his day is jealously monopolized by his companion and ever-present watchdog, Mr. Seven Pounds of Fury, also known as Loki… whose absolute favorite thing is getting some “Dad Cuddles.”
Jackie Dobson
Hello, I’m Jackie Dotson, Secretary for Prolife Bitterroot/Montanans for Life. After retiring as a Registered Nurse, I moved from Kansas City to the Bitterroot Valley. I strongly believe that life should be valued and protected—from conception to natural death.
During my time in Kansas City, I had the privilege of putting that belief into action. I worked closely with several older adults, helping them remain in their homes and live with dignity, surrounded by love and the support of family and friends. It was a blessing to help them complete their lives on earth in a meaningful and compassionate way.
Today, I’m working with the younger end of the spectrum—pregnant women right here in the Bitterroot. Many are facing difficult and emotional decisions about their babies, relationships, and personal futures. I have the opportunity to walk alongside them, offering support, encouragement, resources, and the reassurance that they’re not alone. It’s an honor to be part of a community that helps women choose life and build hope for themselves and their children.
Robin Sertell Prolife Advocate Bitterroot Valley Montana
Hi, my name is Keslie, and I serve as the Distribution Coordinator for Bitterroot Mommy and Me.  My journey in pro-life advocacy began in Washington State, where I volunteered with the Western Washington Coalition for Life. I served as a sidewalk advocate during 40 Days for Life, reaching out to women with compassion, support, and life-affirming alternatives during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
When I relocated to Montana, I knew I wanted to continue this work. Not long after settling in, I heard a survivor’s story at the local Hamilton Farmers Market. Hearing this powerful testimony as an abortion survivor was life-changing. The courage and passion moved me deeply, and I felt called to get involved right away. Since then, I’ve been actively engaged in pro-life outreach here in the Bitterroot Valley.
Today, I’m proud to be part of the team launching the new Bitterroot Mommy and Me pregnancy clinic. We are working to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where women can receive the care, resources, and emotional support they need during pregnancy and beyond. From providing essential baby items to offering educational materials and personal encouragement, our mission is to walk alongside each woman with love and compassion—empowering her to make life-affirming decisions for herself and her baby.
Being part of this work in our own community is a true blessing, and I’m excited to see how this clinic will continue to grow and serve families throughout the Bitterroot.

We are passionate about creating a culture of life by equipping, engaging, and working with other pro-life activists in Montana.
